YOKOSUKA, Japan (July 17, 2018) – U.S. Navy, U.S. and Japanese civilian personnel onboard Ship Repair Facility and Japan Regional Maintenance Center (SRF-JRMC) gathered at the carpenter shop for the command’s first-ever technology showcase, presented in partnership with the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences, Commercial Technologies for Maintenance Activities, and the office of the secretary of defense.
The two-day event encouraged command-wide engagement with industrial technology companies familiar with the U.S. Navy’s ship repair business. Representatives from Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) 04X, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, eight U.S.-based companies and one based in Australia were in attendance.
