This was my first port visit (Sep 1978) after boarding the USS Oklahoma City CG-5. Keelung, Taiwan, Republic Of China. While there, I also visited nearby Taipei. Shortly afterwards because of the recognition of the PRC, no more visits to Taiwan were permitted. My shipmates and I were disappointed.

Great ship, I was on CLG4, C6F, first flagship in Gaeta Italy. Tried to get orders to OKC in 1970 after 3 years in VN, but BUPERS said I had been out of the USA too long and had to go back to the states, what a bummer😒
